Introducing WYSIWYG Wellness RX

One of the greatest privileges we have at WYSIWYG is sharing what we have learned through the lessons of our lives or through researching what we needed to learn. We are asked many questions, but one of the consistent questions we are asked is: How much juice do we recommend you drink each day? There are amazing benefits to drinking our juice regularly and we can’t wait to share why!

Most of you know this, but it’s a good place to start. The USDA recommends eating five to nine servings of fruits and vegetables per day.

The CDC reports that only one in 10 adults in this country meet the guidelines for fruit and vegetable consumption. As a result, we’re missing out on the essential vitamins, minerals, enzymes and phytochemicals that fruits and vegetables provide.

Seven of the top 10 leading causes of death in the United States are from chronic diseases. Eating a diet rich in fruits and vegetables daily can help reduce the risk of many leading causes of illness and death, including heart disease, type 2 diabetes, some cancers, and obesity.

For most fruits and vegetables a serving is equal to the amount that will fill a one-cup measuring cup. But one serving of raw leafy greens (like spinach and lettuce) is two cups. Eight ounces of 100% pure fruit or vegetable juice also counts as a one-cup serving.

If eight ounces of 100% pure fruit or vegetable juice counts as a one-cup serving, wouldn’t that mean I need to drink 2 to almost 5-16 oz. bottles of WYSIWYG Juice a day???!!! Not necessarily. Read on.

A good place to start is by understanding what cold-pressed juice is. The words “Cold-Pressed Juice” are plastered everywhere now. When the Cold-Pressed process is used, it the crowning champion in the juice world of nutrition over any other juicing method. This is because a hydraulic press is used to extract the juice from the fruits and vegetables by compressing them between two plates with tons of pressure without added heat. HOWEVER, not all cold-pressed juice is the same. Make sure to look for cold-pressed juice that has not been pasteurized or HPP (High-Pressure Processed). Both involve losing nutrients and enzymes in order to maintain a longer shelf life. You can always tell 100% pure cold-pressed juice because it will need to be consumed within a few days.

In its real, first-pressed state, cold-pressed juice is chock-full and brimming with exceedingly higher vitamins, enzymes, trace minerals, and other vital elements than other processed juice. This is what we are looking for to achieve optimum health in our bodies and brain and that’s what we do at WYSIWYG. You won’t find any added sweeteners, preservatives, artificial dyes or chemicals of any kind. What You See Is What You Get!

Because a significant portion of the non-soluble fiber is removed during the juicing process and the juice remains, cold-pressed juice is absorbed very rapidly by our bodies. When we drink it, it enters our bloodstream immediately and the nutrients are absorbed right away! About 20 minutes later, this translates to an instantaneous boost of ENERGY! Did you know that juicing is called nature’s espresso shot? This happens because juice helps balance our pH which helps balance the acidity levels that processed foods create. Along side of that, the enzymes feed our body’s good bacteria, which help suppress pathogenic bacteria. This translates to a stronger immune system which help our body resist disease. This is something we all need more than ever now!
What do Kristi and Marie recommend?

Upon waking every day, we recommend one of our Wellness Shots to put your immune system in to overdrive and alkalize your body. 20 minutes later we recommend one 16 oz. bottle of juice. When you wake up, your body is like a thirsty sponge. The first thing your put into it is the greatest uptake of nutrients your body will absorb that day. In essence, a juice first thing in the morning, helps to “pre-digest” our food choices for the day!
Do the two of you do this?
Yep! The two of us alternate between Charge and Recover every day! Marie always mixes her Yah Yah Yah shot with some hot water! Yep. Wimpy and she’s proud of it!

Which juice should I drink?

WYSIWYG’s flavor profiles are sensational! We don’t recommend sticking to one juice flavor! Cold-pressed juice is also a great way to introduce new foods to your diet and variety is another important factor in your health. If you are concerned about not getting enough fiber from the rest of your diet, then we recommend one of our Tier 2 or Tier 3 juices which are mainly vegetables and then eat your fruit for the fiber!
Is a juice a day a meal replacement?
No. Think of drinking one of our juices each day as taking your multi-vitamin only it comes with a whole multitude of additional benefits as well. If you are looking for a meal replacement, grab one of our smoothies instead. Every smoothie we make starts with our juice!

In each bottle of our juices, there are between 3-5 POUNDS of fruits or vegetables. This translates to a juice a day and that translates to knocking off that recommended serving on your to-do list each day!! Boom. You’re already ahead of the game!
